Make Portable Apps, Step By Step Instructions

Today we are going to make portable apps in Windows. It would have been much more easier if we could just carry our daily used apps anywhere in any storage medium and use them in any computer, without the need of installing them. You can carry your personal datas whwrever you want so that you do not need to remember your passwords while signing into your accounts, find out the history, etc.....

How to make a portable app?
Easy, just do as told below.

First of all you'll need a software called "VMware Thinapp". Download and install it because this is the software that we are going to use the whole period.

Then, follow these steps:

  1. Open up the "VMware Thinapp" and hit Next.
  2. Hit the Prescan button. 
  3. Wait for a while for the Prescanning to over.
  4. After the scanning you will be shown some warnings, just hit the Next button.
  5. Now install the software you want to make portable.
  6. Then hit the Postscan button.
  7. Again wait for a while.
  8. After the postscan is over you'll again be shown sone warnings. Just ignore them and hit Next.
  9. Then you'll see your previously installed app in the 'entry points' window.
  10. Remove unwanted things and hit Next.
  11. The rest of the options depends on yourself so proceed yourself.
  12. In the package setting window, use the Compress Virtual Package optin and hit Save.
  13. Then hit Build.
  14. Hit Finish.
  15. An explorer will open containing the portable app.
